What is SERAP?
SERAP is a technology entrepreneurship programme which provides pre-venture capital stage financing to support technology entrepreneurs and small enterprises to carry out research and development work for starting new businesses and conducting market validation.
For projects approved for funding, a grant of up to HK$2 million will be provided on a dollar-for-dollar matching basis. The grant will be recouped if the project is able to attract follow-on investment or generate revenue.
Projects under SERAP should be completed within 2 years.
The applicant company will hold all intellectual property rights arising from the project.
The programme is open for applications all the year round. The result is normally available within two months after receipt of full information relating to an application.
Who are eligible to apply?
In general, locally incorporated companies with less than 100 employees are eligible to apply.
