The Finance Committee of the Legislative Council has increased the funding ceiling of ITF-funded projects to be approved by the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology. Save ITF programmes with specific funding ceilings, the funding ceiling of all ITF-funded projects is raised from $21 to $30 million accordingly.

The Public Sector Trial Scheme has been extended to all completed Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) projects to facilitate the realisation and commercialisation of research and development (R&D) results. Details of the scheme and the application form are available at the ITF website.

Enhanced SERAP effective from 1 April 2012 The enhancements to the Small Entrepreneur Research Assistance Programme (SERAP) under the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) as announced in the 2012-13 Budget has come into effect from 1 April 2012. In gist, the following enhancements are implemented - funding ceiling for each project increases from HK$4 million to HK$6 million; the programme extends to cover enterprises with venture capital investment; and the funding scope expands to facilitate commercialisation, including industrial design, testing and certification of prototype and clinical trial, etc. For detailed information on the enhanced SERAP, please read the Guide to the SERAP on ITF website.
