General Support Programme (GSP)
What is GSP?
GSP is a programme under the ITF catering for non-R&D projects that contribute to the upgrading and development of our industries as well as fostering an innovation and technology culture in Hong Kong.
Projects to be supported under GSP may include conferences, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, promotional events, studies and surveys, youth activities, events or projects to support platform building / upgrading of industry, etc. In general, the GSP will not support projects for promotion of products/services of a specific commercial entity.
New Improvement Measure
In order to promote a more robust I&T culture and encourage more project applications, the sponsorship requirement is revised. If the applicant is not a private company, contribution provided by the applicant itself or by its related parties will also be accepted as sponsorship for the project.
For further background of the new measure, please refer to the attached paper submitted to the Legislative Council Panel on Commerce and Industry in February 2014 (www.legco.gov.hk/yr13-14/english/panels/ci/papers/ci0218cb1-885-3-e.pdf).
